At Pena4, giving back isn't just an annual event — it's an intrinsic part of the corporate culture.

Over the last several years, the company has consistently demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by actively participating in volunteer initiatives and supporting various charitable organizations across every location. The New Jersey location has partnered with Home Front Group to fill up cars for those in need. Additionally, the India location partners with HUManity Group as part of a CSR and financially donates to Akshaya Patra Foundation to provide family care kits.

The Pennsylvania headquarters of Pena4 has also been actively involved in volunteering at various charitable organizations. This year, on December 7th, the company is set to continue its tradition of giving by collectively volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Second Harvest is a philanthropic organization dedicated to obtaining and distributing food to people in need through non-profits while also providing resources for education and advocacy to combat hunger.

Carrie Harris, Director of Human Resources at Pena4, talked about the company's passion for community service. She states, "Pena4 loves to partner with Second Harvest because it aligns with our core values. We believe in making a positive impact in the communities where we operate, and being able to give back brings a sense of fulfillment to our team. It’s always completely voluntary — and every year, everyone is really excited to participate."

Pena4 Has Partnered With Second Harvest For Other Initiatives

The upcoming company-wide event marks the fourth year that Pena4 has chosen to invest its time and resources in supporting Second Harvest. In the past, the company has contributed to assembling food packages for military families, providing summer meals for children, and distributing back-to-school backpacks. This year, Pena4 aims to make a difference in the lives of seniors in need by working together to create food boxes specifically tailored to their requirements.

On the day of the event, the Pena4 team will roll up their sleeves and immerse themselves in serving on an assembly line. From crafting the actual cardboard boxes to carefully packing donated food items, taping up the packages, and loading them onto pallets for delivery, every team member plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of this initiative.

More About Second Harvest Food Bank

Second Harvest Food Bank, where Pena4 will be volunteering, has a rich history of community service. Second Harvest Food Bank (SHFB) traces its roots back to October 1982 when the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley, Inc. (CACLV) founded the Lehigh Valley Food Bank (LVFB). Now known as Second Harvest Food Bank, the organization has evolved from serving 15 agencies to 200 agencies across six counties: Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, and Wayne.

The organization is committed to a dual mission of distributing food to those in need and actively combatting food industry waste by encouraging donations of unsaleable yet edible products from local companies. Every donated product, whether food or non-food, is strictly earmarked for the consumption or use of individuals in need participating in the programs of member agencies.
